Mark 16:15 says, “And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature’”
A young guy once asked me the fate of Christians who don’t win souls. His question was based on Ezekiel 33:6, which reads: “…But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand” (Ezekiel 33:2-4, 6).
To answer his question, I gave him three reasons why we must preach the Gospel and win souls. The first reason is our faith in the Lord Jesus and His glorious Gospel. The second is our love for Him and hope of His return. And the third is His instruction for us to win souls. When a believer doesn’t win souls, it means that his love for the Master is questionable. His hope of heaven, as well as his obedience to the master’s instruction, is called to question.
The Bible says the Lord “…does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins” (2 Peter 3:9 GNB). He has determined that souls be won into His Kingdom every day, and you are one of those empowered to reach the unsaved. It is your primary responsibility as a Christian. Don’t neglect this privilege of serving the Master; make up your mind to be involved in the continuous furtherance of the Gospel.
